#1: Ones that work. #2: Ones that partially work. #3: Ones that don't work at all. IMHO talking about different mags for AK's is splitting hairs. I have never ran across a brand/country that didn't work. Sure some of them are plain busted, but individuals not a whole group. AK mags are not like m16 mags, they on general either work or they don't, no gray area. So in my mind this "rank"ing of AK mags is pointless. |
so you're saying your chinese dont work?? any 30 rd steel is going to work unless it has a dent or some other problems. |

As someone else has already said, All AK-47 foreign made magazines work (as long as they are not damaged). The only problems with AK mags that I have heard of are from U.S. manufactured ones. So I would rank them as follows: 1. Any non-US magazine 2. US magazine If you are looking at mags from a collectors standpoint then it is a whole different ballgame. I'm not a big magazine collector, so it would be hard for me to rank them. All I do know, is that Russian made mags are a lot more valuable than anything else I have seen. |
They even work with dents, if it's not too deep.

Why would you assume that? I never said that my Chinese mags don't work. I simply said that of the mags that I own, my Russian mags are the best followed by the order I gave above. |
i was just asking because you ranked them below the euro mags... i personally cant stand the euro mags. i was just wondering if they were broken or something, which might have influenced your opinion. |
Sorry, not meaning to be offensive. The reason behind this is because my Chinese mags have the stamped top. There is not a plate of steel like the other mags. This and the finish is very thin. But other than that they function fine. When loading them a few times I have had a problem with getting the first few rounds in because there is a space where the top is "stamped" kind of like a recess. The back of the rounds want to slide into this and it makes the front of the round stick out of the mag. So I have to pull it out and try again. |
