| Forgive me if this is a redundant question but are there any options other than Ironworks for a stock swap from a thumbhole to a standard AK stock for a Mak 90 with a slant cut receiver? I'm still learning. I want to get the traditional look. Don't get me wrong. Ironworks appears to be top notch. I'm just wonder what other, if any options there are. Thanks. |

Quoted: That is the only one I have used or know about. You could cut down the Bishop thumb hole stock that is on it as it was a US made part.Forgive me if this is a redundant question but are there any options other than Ironworks for a stock swap from a thumbhole to a standard AK stock for a Mak 90 with a slant cut receiver? Many people done the cut-down option? Any pics of the outcome? Leave the thumbhole intact and sell it with the hand guards then buy yourself a complete ironwood set..you will not be disappointed. I don't know of anyone else that makes a stock for a slant cut mak to answer your question. |

Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options for that "traditional" look you're seeking in regards to a slant cut receiver (hence them being cut).
Between Iron Wood Designs and whatever you come up with in terms of customizing a buttstock to look "almost there," that's about it. |

I just bought a MAK 90 at my local gun shop tonight and will be going with a nice Ironwood Type 56 set. I'm going to finish it in Chicom blonde/orange. I just have to pick up a G2 double hook FCG. |

Great decision! And you will enjoy doing the work on the wood. A part of yourself in you AK so to say.
Building ids fun as well. The investment in tools will be high or pay a buddy who has the tools and might give you pointers. I usually will give my friend payment to rent his equipment. Just thought for the future as you get more into it, and you WILL! |
