I have the receiver and the parts kit ready to go.  I cannot figure out how to get the 2 plates in.  One of them goes on the underside of the receiver to hold the Handguard on, and the other one is is a plug for the rear of the receiver.  My kit is an underfolder.

How do I get the 2 plates in the new receiver?

the milled rec does not use reinforcement plates like the stamped

it is not the reinforced plates, it is the plate that would be the rear of the trunion and the plate that holds the lower handguard on.

Ah gotcha sorry, they should just slide into the beveled slots.  Got pics?

They will not slide in, because the plates are wider than the slots.  Also, the plate that holds the lower handguard on is going to stick down and not fit flush with the lower part of the receiver.  I may try to weld it in.

What receiver did you use?

I am building a m64 on a rpk stamped receiver.  I am good with a grinder and a welder and I need another project.

I am building this one on a ORF Milled Receiver for a M70.  I got it together yesterday.  I till have to fit the top cover and press in the barrel pin, but other than that it is ready to go for a test fire.

I am taking it to my gunsmith tomorrow.  He is going to ream it out and put an oversized pin in it.  I don't have the tools to do it at home.
