I have a stamp in un a SBR Mini Draco Underfolder.  I already picked up a Romanian Underfolder assembly so basically I am looking for my options.

I understand that the mini draco has a virgin underfolder trunnion in the gun.  I have the flats from an old romanian underfolder trunnion.  Could I use them as a guide and drill the receiver and trunnion at the same time without removing the trunnion?

If I have to remove the virgin trunnion could I drill it when outside of the gun?

Would I just be better off buying an underfolder trunnion from Apex gun parts for 75 bucks and swap the trunnion?

If I have to remove the current trunnion, how much of a pain in the ass am I looking at pulling the old rivets?

I do have access to a machine shop. so tools aren't an issue, I would just like to know what all my options are.

If I have to remove the virgin trunnion could I drill it when outside of the gun? Leave it in.

Would I just be better off buying an underfolder trunnion from Apex gun parts for 75 bucks and swap the trunnion?  Depends on how good your riveting skills are

So are you suggesting that I drill the receiver and the trunnion with the trunnion still inside the receiver without removing any rivets?  If this method would work it is what I would prefer, I just don't want to mess anything up since I have a pending stamp on it.  As I said, the trunnion in the gun now is a virgin underfolder trunnion meaning there are currently no holes drilled in it.

I drilled my mini out for the underfolder. Use a press or better, a mill. Go slow, use lube. That's some tough metal and you may need more than one bit.

But it was easily done in an evening and works great. I had an underfold WASR that I used for a template and picked up the underfolder hardware and stock at a gun show for $20.

While the underfolder is not ideal for cheek weld, I like it for being incredibly compact and you can still use the weapon normally with the stock in the folded position. And since this is not a long distance shooter, the cheek weld is really not that important.
