| Without having one infront of me, its hard for me to understand why its hard to retrofit. Could somebody explain why its hard to change to an underfolder? |
Yes but why would you have ears that returned forward if you already had a block that would fit normally in the receiver? Basically the underfolder attaches to a block inside of the receiver. The only reason I could think of a reason for a block attaching to the tang is if you did not have the ability to rivet the new underfolder block inplace. Therefore you would hold it in place with the crew inside the reciever and the screw at the outside tang. But you would still not need wings folding back becuase you would drill through the reciever into the block for the attachment. Its not hard to change, you would only need to cut off the tang and install a rear receiver block, drill holds through the block and the recevier and then attach the underfolder. The hard part is 1.) obtaining a reveiver block and 2.) attaching is to the receiver. |
| My reasoning behind all that excess work was that it seemed tohe downside to converting was that you were drilling big holes in your receiver and you had to remove the original trunnion with the tang. I was looking for a way you could go back and forth by modifying the underfolder, not the rifle. I guess not possible. |
