Stupid question I guess but. Do muzzle brakes wear out?? Not in the lifetime of your average rifle if they are made of the proper materials and designed properly. the short answer would be "no, they won't wera out" BTW, it is not a stupid question at all, it is actually a really good question that no one usually asks. The gas can erode the finish on most muzzle devices given enough rounds, any may carbonize or erode the faces it is blasting off of, but it rarely if ever would cause a failure of the material. |

The muzzle brake on my 2008 SLR 107FR is unmarked (nothing at all). It does not look chrome lined to me though (but I am no expert). Still the best AK I have ever had... Also have a spare KVAR 7.62 brake for a 107 that is not marked either. Had another 107F that the brake was like the one in your picture. I guess it depends on what is on hand at the time of assembly. |

I think the US made arsenal AK74 brakes in 7.62 are not chrome lined. Thanks but that wasn't the question I asked You asked two questions: 1 - They do not wear out. 2 - Chrome lined brakes will not have the Arsenal markings on it. |
