Hi guys,
I need an advice, I would like to know what's the best muzzle breaks for an AK-100 family(5.54combloc).

I've got 2 choices (from my gunshop)

this one

Hard choice.

The second is a brake, not specifically a flash hider.

Either one will do fine.

I personally perfer the second, the AK74 brake.

the top unit is a gas booster, designed to sufficient pressure to the gas piston to cause it to reliably operate and to correctly time the rifle's operating cycle.

the lower picture is an ak74 brake, a very efficient device if used on the small calibre, high velocity rounds (5.45 and .223).

my personal preferance is for the genuine commie ak74 brakes over any other device that i have tried.

Global Trades sells US-made copies of 74 brakes. I think they run in the $30's though. Anybody watch "Tales of the Gun"? The AK-47 episode claimed the ak74 brake was widely acclaimed as the best brake ever made for full-auto stability.

Is there any truth behind the rumor that the 74 brake is an American design that the Russians copied?

I stand corrected, the AR-15 version is only 14.99. The AK version is 36.99. Here's the AR one:

the ak74 type brake is one the russians refined from earlier brakes thet looked similar. look at the brakes found on some rifles from the 1940's (such as the svt38) and you can see a resemblence.
