Picked this package up from AIM about 2 months ago. Personally I think it is one of the hottest deals going for a rifle package. I think it is very well put together very nice machining and finish. The folder is still being worked into a normal/useable range. Great conversation piece at the range, everyone wants to know what kind of AK it is! I do not have any plans to make any tacticool upgrades to it. I am leaning towards adding the tab to the bolt to avoid any malfunctions later on. To be honest it has not had any problems so far even with me working it slowly, it has reset correctly every time. That being said it only has about 60 rounds through it, i mainly was just making sure each mag worked and the rifle functioned as described. But I would hate to need to use it and it not work. Any thoughts on if it is over kill or sound reasoning?

Same here, picked up a VZ from a local shop who orders theirs thru AIM surplus. Great rifle. I've read every post on the VZ 'gremlin' issue, I've not experienced any issues yet and no indications of any problems when I try the gremlin test so I'm not worrying about tabbing the carrier until it becomes an issue. Normally I start changing up everything on a new rifle but on this one I've only added a red dot and a rubber butt pad. I thought about swapping to the larger Ronin or Mako grip but I kinda like the OEM look of the beaver barf furniture so I may stay with the stock grip. Only thin\g I'd reccommend first is to ditch the slant brake, both my AK & VZ had quite a bit of cheek slap til I took them off. I just re-notched mine so the slant is at 6 o'clock, just want to see if thay helpswith muzzle rise, otherwise I'll just toss mine foe a cone brake or a Slovak.

i had my wife pic mine up when I was on a deployment and through time I ordered all the mods I planned on doing to it when I got home and after reading about the gremlin I went and ordered the tabbed carrier with out even seeing the rifle. so when I got home I test fired it and it wouldn't fire more than 1 round at a time with out having to rerack the bolt. so I got lucky that I got it just to make sure it was more reliable cause I ended up needing it. out of the box my wife liked this more than the ultra lite ar15 I made her they are very light for what they are. by the way she hates it now that I changed everything on it.

bone steel arms they sold surplus bolt carries with a welded tab option just looked and its out of stock . only problem with them is there the original grey color. I spray painted it and it held up better than I thought at a distance you cant tell the color difference. round count is around 1100rnds. after the carrier change after the first shooting I have not had one problem or stoppage in this rifle.
