I recently replace the furniture on my NHM91 from Ironwood Designs, with a more traditional style butt stock, I always hated the thumb-hole stock that came originally with the rifle, does the rifle now have be 922r compliant due to furniture replacement?

If I follow you here, you had a T-hole NHM91 that you have only acquired enough parts currently to swap the buttstock, handguards and maybe the pistol grip?  If so, yes- you need to add additional US made parts to comply with 922(r) before you slap it all together.  FCG, op rod, muzzle device (if threaded) and/or US made mag or mag parts.

Pics.  When you're finished, of course!

So how many more US made parts do I need to comply with 922(r)? will replacing the whole FCG with a TAPCO brand and a US made Muzzle device be enough to comply?

Okay, according to the 922r compliance chart, all I need is replace the FCG, now I tried removing the safety selector but it won't swing all the way up so I can pull it out, it is interfering with the trigger, any tips on how to take the FCG out, I have taken apart the FCG on my WASR, the safety selector just swings 90 degree up and out it comes.

I was confused by the safety at first when I swapped FCG parts on my NHM90.  Take the safety out after removing the rest of the FCG.

A stamped receiver AK with a muzzle device requires 6 US made parts to comply with 922r.

So installing the new FCG is the exact reversal of taking it apart? meaning the selector never have to come off?
