I might have a trade/sale pending locally on an NPAP underfolder and wanted to see how to tell what generation it is. A lot of people seemed to have issues with the older guns but great luck with newer ones.

IIRC, the first gen. Npaps had single stack bolts. I read that bolt caused fairly frequent failures to feed.

I read that on the internet so it must be true.

That was with the first gen fixed-stock PAP rifles. I don't think the underfolders ever came in with single-stack bolts.

OP, to the best of my knowledge there are no different generations of NPAP DF. While there may have been bad production batches or perhaps minute product improvements over the years, I don't think current-production NPAP DFs are substantially different than those first imported.
