According to the tacked threads above, I have a few mags that appears to be Russian due to the welds around the top of the mag, but yet the stamping of the rails are not sharp like the picture suggests, AND the spine has a "4" stamped on the left side and an incomplete "A" on the right side. Also, on the bottom of the right side there is what appreas to be a incomeplete "O" stamp as well. There are no actual Russian shield/star just below the mag lip either. I took pics but they turned out worthless. Any idea what kind of mag this is? I sit it in fact a Russian mag??? Thanks. |
Hmm. I dont think it is a "D" of any sort. It looks like an incomplete "O" and it is on the bottom of the right side. I also found a small "7" on the left side of the mag about 2/3 the way from the top near the front edge. |

They don't sound Russian. The markings aren't right. You should see star or the arrow in triangle or the spotwelded feedlips or something. I don't think anybody knows for sure there they came from. They sound like the ones everyone got from SG. Everyone sold them as generic East Euro because the origins can't be nailed down. |
In all of the pictures I have found, none of the Romanain examples have the spot welds near the top of mag assembly. But, the single number 4 on the mag spine, and hte single 7 on the side all point to a Romanian origin due to them being the ones who liked to stamp numbers into the mags more so than any other country. The other othet thing I found after close inspection was the beveled rail on the side at the top and nearest the rear of the mag that point towards a Polish origin, but some resources state that some of the Romanin mags were built that was as well. Oh, the drama! For the time being... I'll call them rare Romanin mags that were used by an elite spec ops unit against the invading Mangols, and they'll have a value of $150 per mag. |
I'm rich! I've got two or three of those spec ops magazines. I think I got them in the first SG lottery for $2.25 each. |
