This is my first post so bear with me.
I recently purchased a yugo m90 and love it to death. In fact, I love it so much i dont want to shoot it. I leave it on the wall and drool over it. My dilemma is that I want to get a suitable ak for day to day use. I am unfamiliar with ak's in general.I have seen the chi-com's, the maadi's and similar variants. I am looking for something as close in quality to the yugo as I can get without paying an arm and a leg (again).I have been looking at the arsenal u.s.a. rifles and to me they look like waht I am after. Do any of you guys have any experience with these types of rifles? Can someone tell me where to get one? Is there another type that might be suitable for me? I can hold my own with my M4, but its time to try the real deal.

Thanks guys.

If quality and price are your main concerns, my advise is a Vepr II! I have a K model and by all means is as reliable and well made as they come in my opinion. They run around $540 new here in KY. The only complaints I think you will find about them is the furniture not having the classic look and the weight being quite a bit more than a traditional AK due to the heavy barrel (which does not seem to get as hot as my SAR's barrel). I personaly don't notice the extra heft that much and the furniture appeals to me. It is as rugged and well made as anything I have held. www.robarm.com

if you like the yugo's. like i do, you'll love the hungarian rifles.

you might want to pick up a sa-85 post-ban for 4 bone or less and install the power custom trigger parts and usa furniture on it. not super-cheap, but a great akm for under $600.

both jimmy streetman's globaltrades (arsenal usa) and arsenal kazanlak usa make fine rifles. email them to provide a dealer location near you.

STARTED with a M90? Boy are you spoiled :)

I suggest VEPR or Arsenal.

If you're looking for an AK for"day to day use" why not just get a SAR-1?Change out the stock set and you're good to go.
