Well here is my second AK I've purchased. WASR 10/63 from Henderson Defense. I had a Maadi until last year, but sold it for an AR purchase. Then I missed having an AK, so I went for the WASR. Cheap, but fun!

Only fired 60 rounds so far. No jams. Pretty rough action, but I am sure it will smooth out over time. Little bit of that mag wobble, but overall I am pretty happy with it.

Nice.

Is that the Henderson "red wood" option?  Or "stained/polished"?  Or just regular?

Stained/polished Henderson, and I sprayed it with Minwax polyurethane upon recommendation from people in this forum.

That's a damn fine example of a WASR you've got there! Congrats!

I have over 2,000 rounds through my WASR and it still sounds like there's rocks in the action.  But, it runs like a champ.

Congrats on the new rifle!

That looks good!!  I am just waiting for them to restock so I can get mine.  I really like the stained and polished.

I just got mine from them Mon.  I really like your stain.  I think I am going to have to do that.  It looks a lot better than mine.

Anyway, I cleaned, oiled it and took it to the range on Mon and again today.  My first impression was that the action was a little rough and the mags kind of stuck a little.  After about 100-150 rounds Both of these things seemed to go away.  It is operating better and better.  I have now fired 400 rounds of wolf threw it with out a single hiccup.  So after 3 days of owning it I am still very happy I bought it.  It’s defiantly not a show piece, but it’s cheap and seems to be reliable.

This is the finish as it comes from Henderson if anyone cares.  Also you will see it has a Raddlock bullet button on it.

Hey Norcalkid, I feel the same way. It's a beater rifle, but goes bang!

EDIT: oh btw, Ron at Henderson Defense was awesome. He really treated me well. Very responsive to my questions before I purchased it.

Why does your Henderon rifle have the Raddlock and some others don't?  Can this easily be removed?

I live in California.  (No detachable mags.)  This makes it so I can own this weapon in Calif.  Easley removable and comes with original parts.  Don’t worry about it if you live in a free state.  It wont have one.
