New here to what looks like a great forum. I need some advice: One of my 2 AK's is a "post ban" single stack Romanian. I've seen at many shows what looks like the mag well being machined out on what could have been a single stack mag AK to accept the standard hi-cap mag. I've been told this can be done but you might need to change the bolt in the receiver. Does anyone have any expert knowledge in this modification, OR, should I just get a new stamped receiver that takes the standard mag? Also, does the bolt need to be changed?
