I just picked up a wasr 10 and noticed it doesn't have a handguard on the gas tube. Doesn't appear to have the little cups so to speak on the ends of the gas tube to hold the hand guard on. Can you tell me if this would be a aftermarket gas tube? It is just smooth all the way through. Also I'm assuming it would still be ok to fire? Thanks for any light you guys could shed on my situation.
Thanks

Sounds like its maybe a Saiga gas tube.

Post a pic if you can.

Should still be ok to shoot. If it cycles by hand, then it should run fine.

It's still fine to shoot, they are not necessary at all, just there to keep you from burning your hand on the gas tube.
You can buy one with the retainers if you do want to add the upper handguard.
Like mustangduckk said it is probably a Saiga gas tube. AMD-65s also have a slick gas tube, but they use a different gas tube then your WASR would.

You can host the picture on a site like imgur or postimage then link it here in img tags.
