I actually won this M92 in the AR15.com members raffle giveaway! Originally it was a M70 Yugo underfolder AK I won, which AR15.com never received, instead they received this M92 with a permanent fake PBS suppressor. Ed messaged me and asked if I would want it instead of the M70 AK underfolder, and of course I said I would. This one was built on a Armory USA receiver with a M92 kit. It is exceptionally nicely put together. The FFL I had it transferred to is an old US Armorer, and he was very impressed with both the constrution and the quality of the parts. So $20 for the FFL transfer, $200 for the tax stamp , and $20 including shipping for the cone Krink flash hider & roll pin, spring and plunger, from Todd at Ohio Rapid Fire. |

In that case congratulations, that is a nice looking krink. I like the dark wood. |
It had the same featureless blond wood you see on a lot of the M92 Krinks. I thought I'd try something different with it, so I "highlighted" it with a butane torch to bring out the grain, darken some spots, and give it some character, then used 3 coats of TruOil, sanding in between coats and it actually turned out a lot better than I expected. |
The wood turned out great Edwin...brilliant idea! I was considering applying Chestnut Ridge Military stock stain to mine followed by some more tung oil.

What type of finish is on that? (The Metal) |

It is an Autoburst. I only bought the top cuz the bottom is way to bulky for my liking.
I think they still make them. I bought mine about 2 years ago. I am not looking at selling right now. The one thing about the Autoburst that I dont like is that if you dont buy the lower, the gap between the two forends is huge and it wobbles alot. I use a heat resistant flat piece of plastic between the two parts to keep them from moving. Its worked so far but when we were running 800-1200 rounds a day in class, I did start to melt the spacer. The autoburst forend still looks brand new though. Anthony |

Hey, I just saw this pic on the new Tactical Response ad in SWAT Mag. Do you work for them or were you just taking a class? Either way, you're famous! |

Gorgeous.
I love Krinkovs!! I find them to be the most preferable of all AK's. |

Edwin,
That is a beautiful M92. I am building one up with a Galil folder (real one, not the Tapco crap). I had planned on putting a piece of picatinny on the cover myself, but even considering the cost, the Nodak unit may be too good to pass up. How did you refinish the handguards? I like that look. |
I had also considered welding a section of rail to the cover, but passed on that when I saw NDS's rail for sale. It specifically fits the cover, and two holes are drilled to secure it, not locate it. It's far superior to anything I would have done with a peice of rail and the welder. I used a mini-torch to flame the handguards to give a little highlight to the grain and add some dark spots for character. Then a few coats of TruOil with light sanding in between and that's how they turned out. I had added a PRI SPR carbon float tube rail to the upper handguard (left over when I replaced my SPR rail with one with a QD sling mount) and originally ran my Micro T-1 Aimpoint (now on the Mod0) there till I got the NDS rail and ML2. I have found it is ideal for mounting the IWAL2 IR laser or the Surefire scout light on the offset mount. |
