Are the Ohio Ordnance receivers good to go now? I've heard they have issues with them not being heat treated and with the safety selector not sitting flush when in the safe position. I'm really thinking hard now about racking up some more debt on my credit card to have one of these. They look friggin awesome. |
On the original SEAK, I believe ORF heat treated the pin holes and rails but not the entire receiver. Unless you are planning on using the receiver as some sort of leveraging tool, that should not be an issue. Once you receive the SEAK, the safety selector MUST be hand fitted for it to be placed in its fully up, engaged position. Since the RSA FCG is adjustable, ORF does not know how you would like the various adjustable features of the FCG set. And how you set them will affect how much material of the caming surface of the selector to take off. BTW, the FCG must be removed for the selector to be taken out for the hand fitting process. Was it a pain in the ass? Hell yeah- because I've never worked on an AK FCG or any FCG for that matter. It just took time and patience (or a willing board member in your area). The toughest part was getting that retaining wire back on. It was not hard after I reviewed the step-by-step, photo instructions on this fine site. |
Not exactly. I did not take the entire FCG out of the receiver. I simply took the shepard’s hook out. Backed the trigger pin out just enough to get the trigger out of the way to rotate the safety selector out for the hand fitting process. It's the price you have to pay for an adjustable FCG. |
| Are you building them? Do you know? I'm not asking for your legal opinion. I am asking ORF who builds it, how long it is when folded. Under Michigan law depending on the BBL lenghth and overall length when folded, the gun could be required to be registered as a pistol according to our Attorney General. Anyone in Michigan would want to know that. |
| Take it easy hoss, its pretty common knowledge that firearms must be over 26" overall due to Federal firearms laws. This isnt just a Michigan thing its a Federal law. Michigan more than likely copied the Federal laws to enable their state law enforcement to handle firearms violations |
690mm with stock folded, and 943 with the stock extended. That's all with the muzzle device attatched. That's a touch under 28". Edit: in any case, you can allways add some more length by getting a can for it |
+1 I don't like non folding folders ( The NY Opption) so I'd want the polymer butt stock too Can it be done ??? |
