Howdy!  I'm a tad new to the AK world and could use a bit of advice on choice of optics.  I'm going to run an RS Regulate 301M side mount and the respective smaller mount on that.  I have a couple of red dots to chose from that I already have.  I have an Aimpoint PRO and I have a Vortex Sparc II.  I'm trying to decide on which one to run.  The Aimpoint will last forever but it's a tad big.  Everything that I have read states that it will cowitness just fine.  I have no doubt that the SPARC II will last damn near forever as well, but from what I have read, it won't cowitness in that mount.  It's advantage is it's smaller.  Given that I don't know much about the mounts or the platform, I figured I'd ask.  Thanks!

Sounds like it's up to you. I'd probably go SPARC for the smaller package.

How big of a deal is co-witness to you?  A QD mount can be gone in seconds if need be.

Personally, I don't care if an optic co-witnesses if it's on a QD mount.  That and my ranges are not the two-way variety, my life is not on the line if the optic goes down.
