It seems every time I get a list together for a parts or supplies order, I forget a small part. Or something small is missing from a kit, like a selector stop, hammer/trigger pin or whatever. The shipping cost on these and other small parts are quite often as much as or more than the parts themselves. There have also been people posting asking if anyone has the part and stating the shipping is just to high to order just that part.

I thought it might be a good idea to get a thread going where people can post that they are going to be ordering (member "A"). If someone needs a small part (member "B"), it could be added to a larger order. For instance, a hammer/trigger pin from a major supplier is $2.99. Shipping on this pin is $7.95, so for a $3 pin, you pay almost $11. The approximate shipping cost on this, in a padded envelope from Ohio to California is $1.50.

Once member "A" receives the order, they let member "B" know. Member "B" is responsible for paying for the part they needed, plus the shipping from member "A" to him. Payment method should be worked out between the two before the order is placed.

Please don't post WTB ads in this thread. They will be moved to the EE.

A good idea as we've been doin' the same thing here with all the guys that I shoot with. Isn't any sense in payin' big bucks to these companys for "shipping" costs. That's just spare change in their pockets.Madtechcool

Beware-

It is tempting to throw small parts in a 32 cent letter, but all letter-sized envelopes are fed through mechanical sorters, and any springs or screws will probably get pinched and ripped out of the envelopes. This happened to me twice before I found out what was happening.

Now the small parts go into padded mailing envelopes, and they take a couple of stamps.

yeah, sawgunner sent me a dozen or so U-drive screws for free- put them in an envelope with two first class stamps and it got to me in 3 weeks- all tattered, torn and chewed up inside a plastic bag that said "we're sorry."
