I don't have one (Kel-tec PLR-16), but a dealer local to me has one for sale for $439.  I am curious as to what you guys that own Dracos think about it?

By the way I have an SAR-3 shooting 5.56. So the ammo would be good for me.

I have never shot one, but everyone that has them seems to be happy. I think they look cool, as do sbr ARs, but the shortcomings of 5.56 in a short barrel turn me off....

I was actually going to pick one of these up too. I like the look of the rail on it, instead of the cheesy hand guard/ bipod crap. Seems like a fun little plinker or back pack gun.

I had the PLR16 and the PLR22...sold my PLR16 without even shooting it...it's super loud since it's a pistol.  I also recently bought a Draco and haven't shot it  yet.

I find the PLR16 to feel cheap as with most items from Kel Tec.  The Draco feels solid compared to the PLR16.

The PLR-16 has mixed reviews.  It appears that (from owners statements) that the front handguard is a must as the barrel gets too hot.  I have read about some FTF as well as FTE problems, but after sending them back in KelTec seemed to make it right.  About the only real advantage I see in this pistol would be the ability to use the AR platforms magazines (and it comes with a single sight mount on top already).  I popped a mag out of an AR-15 on the shelf and it was a perfect fit.

As far as how loud it is, I wonder if the Draco is any quieter?
