I have been toying with the idea of upgrading my optic on my SAR2. I currently use a Kobra which I dont like becuase it has the blue tinted glass and the power switch is broken so its always on. I have been thinging about trying this optic. www.kalinkaoptics.com/cgi-local/kowstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=GSPOK448FAK It solves my problem of no magnification. It solves my problem of where to put a light and it has a laser too! The price seems reasonable but I am worried I will end up disappointed like I did with my Kobra. I am only considering this because its an authentic Russian piece and fits with the modern AK74 theme I went with on the rifle (black polymer funtiture and mags) |
| I bought this scope. Mine came with a laser only, no light. Was cheaper too. The thing to take notice of is the weight. 2.2 pounds is quite heavy. I mounted mine on my FAL and it brought the whole package to around 12 pounds! Very nice optics though. Nice clear image and the reticle is pretty cool. It lights red or green though I doubt I'll ever use that feature. In all a nice battle scope but I wish it were a little lighter. |

I have no idea how well these actually work; never heard of a customer until Thumbhole's post but they look good. I considered that when I got this:http://www.kalinkaoptics.com/cgi-local/kowstore.cgi?user_action=detail&catalogno=GSPO3521PSAK although I got it from Centerfiresystems for virtually the same price. Marvelous 12 deg field of view, yes 12 deg, so target pickup is very easy. Very clear and bright glass as well. Also soup can size and the same 2lbs as the scope you pointed out. Any scope with more than 6deg FOV seems to be heavy with glass. |
