I did something stupid. 2 years ago I bought a PSL, took the stock off, sold it and put a Black Horse armory Dragnov stock on it. It fits me great so a year ago I bought a second PSL and sold the stock on that also, but it wasn't priority to buy another dragnov stock then. Now I am trying to fix my stock-less gun. I went to order "PSL Stock" last week and NADA, they are all sold out, and won't reply to my emails. What other options are there? My collection is all black, so I don't want wood. Is there an easy way to put a pistol grip and say an ACE stock on the PSL?
It's an awesome condition rifle... Just totally naked. |

I believe that BHA went out of business (per another forum). I put together a PSL from a parts kit and s Nodak Spud receiver. I couldn't use the standard PSL buttstock because the NDS receiver is square-backed like an AK. What I did was order an Ace adapter and what they called a Pig Nose, and cut off the tang from the rear trunnion. After I installed the adapter I installed an AR-15 buffer tube and a Magpul PRS buttstock. Its quite comfortable, and the adjustable cheeckpiece is great with a scope. I also ordered a set of plastic handguards and an AK pistolgrip. But I can't remember who I ordered the handguards from. If I find the receipts, I'll let you know who it was. I don't have a pic to put up right now, so I'll do it later. |

cncwarrior makes a couple stock options for the PSL.
Galil style stock: http://www.cncwarrior.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=25372 AR style stock: http://www.cncwarrior.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=25306 |
| I know it's going to sound like I am lecturing , but this is exactly why you shouldn't sell off the take offs from ANY gun be it rifle , pistol , or shotgun . I am kicking myself in the ass for unloading a M1 carbine stock that I never dreamed I would want back . . . .well . .. . guess what ? ( aside from that one stock I have virtually EVERYTHING that ever came w/ my equipment ( wouldn't that figure ? ) |

Does the Choate Drag stock fit the Romanian PSL with no mods? No visible gap at the receiver due to the non-square back? How does the LOP compare to the factory stock without any of the optional length spacers? Do you know if Choate still has the cheek piece? Can't find it on their website.

| I'm 6'5" and the factory stock was horrible and not for me. Not to mention wood looks out of place with my collection. I never thought the company that made my first PSL's stock would go under. Is there a chance anyone else will mod the dragnov stock to fit PSLs? It looks awesome on my first PSL. The folding stock option I like, but would want to cut the barrel down and I fear that would kill the value of the factory built gun. |

I know you said you don't want wood, but you could get a stock from Rhineland Arms and stain it black, then seal it with urethane.
The length of pull is much nicer than the OEM Romanian stocks and it has a built in adjustable riser. If I knew where my OEM stock and nut was I'd just give it to you. Sorry. Ebay or Apex parts for those. |

Rhineland stock all the way. Even if you don't like wood you can do a black somewhat textured paint to mimic poly furniture.
