Hi folks, i need to know information regarding these scopes. I have seen on Kalinka that the PSO's are made in Russia in NPZ, and the POSP's are made in Belarus. Now for my PSL, i would prefer to get a Russian scope since the russians are probably the best quality, are they truly made in Russia? According to this website
http://www.dragunov.net/pso.html they say that the ones we get in the country are of "lesser quality"? I find that hard to believe, but i would like anybody's input on the matter. Are there any IM2's you can buy or what's the closest scope we can buy that is close to the quality of an IM2? Thanks :) |

I have also read that POSPs are supposedly of lower quality than PSOs. I own both POSPs and PSOs and cannot see a measurable difference in the quality of the two, be it clarity or construction. NPZ is not the sole supplier of PSO-1M2s, some are produced in Belarus by Zenit, the same company that produces the POSPs. The NPZ-built PSOs do originate from Russia. I see PSO-1s and PSO-1M2s for sale on Gunbroker and on gun forums, but that is about it. Close clone of a PSO-1M2 here. |

Both of the late date PSOPs I've seen were pretty darn good. Not Zeiss quality by any means but not Zeiss prices either. Earlier ones I saw had dim optics with flaws like glue over lenses and such.
Both of mine are perfectly serviceable scopes that I'm more than happy with for the price I paid. BSW |
