Pardon the noob question, but I am assuming it's normal to have unmatching part numbers on my AK, correct? Especially from a kit build...

Many kits had all matching numbers. Many kits had some matching numbers. Some had no matching numbers.
The matching number kits were more expensive.

Pretty normal.  Not necessarily bad though, I have a few non-matching AK's and they all work great.

Some numbered parts are more important than others. Most people want the bolt, front trunion, and bolt carrier to have matching numbers. That way you know they came from the same built gun and will most likely match and headspace correctly when rebuilt. Its not a guarantee, but a very good chance on it.   The rest, like the top cover, gas tube, buttstock and stuff like that are of less importance to most.
