Why have an underfolder and then carry it around in a huge case? I recently purchased a yoga mat case for mine but soon realized that it's way too flimsy to carry a weapon. I wasn't sure if the strap would rip loose or if the muzzle brake would poke through the end first. Plus, it was completely unpadded.
Then I realized that I already owned a perfect solution to the problem; my camera tripod case. Mine was manufactured years ago by a company which has gone out of business, but a quick check on EBay shows that there are plenty of similar cases being sold by the Chinese for around 20 bucks, many with free shipping. HERE is an example. Warning, I haven't seen this particular case and I can't vouch for anything currently on the market but it appears very similar to mine. With a stock muzzle brake you need something around 29" long. Of course, they make longer cases too if you need one. Mine has a sturdy padded shoulder strap, a rugged zipper, strong handles, and an outside auxiliary pouch big enough for a magazine. It's lightly padded and constructed from very heavy-duty nylon fabric which appears to be waterproofed. It even has one end larger than the other to accommodate a large tripod head which makes it perfect for the pistol grip. My case is nice and slim so it doesn't look anything like a typical gun case, but there's plenty of room for my gas-tube-mounted red dot sight. If you have a huge scope, you might have trouble using a case as slim as mine. So if you're looking for a nice case for your underfolder and you don't want to spend much money, shop for a tripod case. Mine is perfect. |
