I am trying to have some custom fh's made for the Ak. Here are the designs (circled in red) I think would work best.
I figure either the top design or something like the Phoenix on bottom , possibly with straight flutes.

is there a market for these?  is the market not saturated with enough combloc/original ones?

That's the whole reason behind coming up with a domestic version.  There is a thing called compliance parts which means that you can only have so many foreign made parts in these rifles.  By using a U.S. manufactured vesion, you can keep other parts original.   This is covered weekly if not daily here on the AK side of the site.

Anyone interested in POSSIBLY doing a group buy of 15 or so of these for $24 each shipped? Just about any thread you'd like is available.

I'd be in for 1 or 2. My question is though, would the twist be different for 14x1 and AR threads. Seems part of the reason the ports twist is to keep it tight, but if they turn it the opposite way..

I think that is a non-issue. Ak's have a notch and spring loaded pin that holds the FH in place.

If you'd like to buy one of these please sign up HERE.

Well, my SAR-1 isnt because I cant get the damn pin out, and if I threaded my SAR-3 with AR threads a plunger pin wont work if the phantom doesnt block the pin from coming out.

I do not follow, but the ports are not by any means designed to keep the FH on tight. If yours does not have a retainer on it I'd suggest a little loc-tite or do what I did on my Saiga....Ar10 crush washer.

That 'krink' style doesn't actually look like a krink brake.  It looks kinda home made.

If you want to make these for sale, I think you'd find a better market for one that actually looked like a krink brake.

On a related note, there is a confirmed demand for a romanian style 22mm brake, make a bunch of those.

Why do they twist then?

To reduce flash, and for looks. If twist was necessary all fh's would have twist don't you think?

Do the romanian g kits hat 14mm or 22mm threads?

Ok, good, that's what I originally thought but then people started talking about the 22mm threads and was getting kind of scared...
