Can you guys post some actual photos of your SLR-105R rifles? both versions in original config without muzzle break, and possibly some with a muzzle break installed. thanks- |
|
hows the rifle group at 25, 50 and 100 yards? any tips on protecting the finish from gun cleaners? I dont really use Hoppes anymore, at least not as much as I used to...I use this other stuff that smells like licorice almost, it doesnt clean as well as Hoppes, takes a bit more effort, but the parents dont mind it as much as the Hoppes since I clean in the house.....also its less powerful, so I dont worry about getting it on the wood of the rifles even, Hoppes would mess it up real fast. |
I've got the SLR-105A1R. I wanted the optic rail, so I could mount my Kobra but I don't use it much anyways. Every mag I've tried fits nice in mine. The accuracy is good, at 25 yds I had 3 shots touching but at 100 yds it opened up to 3 - 3 1/2 inches, using iron sights. I think it can do better though. I'm not worried about the finish, it might be an issue for some but I can always get it refinished. I've never used Hoppes product though. |
thats exactly what im getting....does CT have any AW ban-like laws? isnt there a cap on magazine capacity too? |
you install the muzzle break or it come with it? |
We have a AWB that mirrors the Fed AWB in every way except we can have all the hi-caps we want regardless of manufacturing date, and we cannot have any Colt Sporter or Colt AR-15 marked AR's. We can have AK's in 5.45, 5.56 or any caliber except for 7.62x39. |
kind of like NY...but only differences is you can have any high caps, and the 7.62x39 AKs are banned...that sucks... |
That's weird, can't own a 7.62x39 AK but the other 2 calibers are fine. |
because ummm...their obviously umm...less dangerous...yeah thats it! less dangerous! lol <-how a politician thinks |
A liberal-head up their ass politician.. Good luck with the SLR, you'll love it. |
haha yep...hey move to NY, you can have that 7.62x39 AK you always wanted! haha, NY...so very pro-gun! lol /sarcasm |
Nope. Any number of rounds. The law is written so that any AR with the words "Colt" and "AR-15" or "Colt" and "Sporter" marked on the receiver are banned. Anything else including Colt rifles that do not say AR-15 or Sporter are good to go. I cannot see the logic that went into making that law......oh wait....thats because absolutely NO logic was used when creating the ban,,,its all coming together now. |
wow that stupid...didnt know about that till now |

Congrats on the new rifle, you'll love it. Just keep the strong solvents away from the finish and you'll be allright.First day I had mine I cleaned it my usual way and watched in horror as the finish came right off.Good thing I'm set up to park and Gunkote,it will look good as new in no time. |
Great to hear! As for solvents...just use CLP. Thats all you'll need to clean and lubricate an AK and it won't hurt the finish. |
i got this spray stuff in a can that smells like licorice.....its not nearly as strong as hoppes...is that a good choice? I might test it on part of the rifle and see if it hurts the finish (in an area not seen noramlly, eg under the furn set). also $420 is a fair price right, thats not too low or too high...i just about broke even on the sale. |
OK, you just click the other button instead on reply, Dieter, I could not firgure out how to get the quote thing above my post |
