They are barely able to keep SA M7 or SA M5s in regular production and you honestly think that could produce a specialized item in any quantity and for under a grand in a reasonable amount of time.

Yes, good luck.

I love the idea, but unless you get maybe 1000 or 5000 people involved with firm commitments (read as pay up front), this just won't happen.

Governments get such great deals for reasons other than pure business....and they buy 10,000 units....

It was the combined pressure of three members that got them to import certain items in the past, they do listen, and we can have first crack at this. You want in otherwise STFU.

Group Buy rules & guidelines, as of 04/16/2006:

1.) All Group Buys must be handled by Team Members, Dealers, or Industry Partners.

2.) To OFFICIALLY post/start a Group Buy you MUST first contact: [email protected] and have it APPROVED.

3.) Group Buys must have dedicated timelines - A signup period will need to be established, after the signup cutoff date is reached a payment period will need to be established and an order date posted. When the payment period is posted an estimated time of arrival for the group buy will also need to be posted. We realize there can be certain unavoidable delays but the organizer of the Group Buy will need to make sure such instances are kept at a minimal. Product must be available from the manufacturer to avoid missed deadlines.

4.) Only ONE Group Buy is to be conducted at a time per Organizer/Dealer.

5.) FOR NOW, we will have a limit of only FIVE or SIX group buys can be conducted per month. This will allow some time for group buy proposals to be better established by both the buyers and the dealer/organizer. If the next couple of months are smooth sailing we will consider increasing this number.

6.) Group Buys will be categorized as “Fast” and “Slow”. “Fast” Group Buys must be completed within 30 days. “Slow” Group Buys must be completed within 90 days. Only one “Slow” Group Buy will be allowed to run at a time. Another “Slow” Group Buy will not be approved until the one running has been completed.

7.) Group Buys must be focused on a single product line. NO package deals of uppers, optics, stocks, etc…

8.) No more Group Buys for specialty receivers, uppers, barrels, etc… No custom builds unless we are confident the supplier can produce the item by the deadline.

9.) The dollar limit per item on Group Buys will be set at $800.00 per item or less, unless handled by an established Dealer or Industry Partner.

10.) Any large Group Buys must be handled by an established Dealer or Industry Partner.

11.) No arguing about another organizer's group buy or about a proposed group buy's price. It is up to the buyer to do the homework and determine if the deal is right or not.

12.) Organizers/Dealers - Do not comment on another's G.B. pricing.

12.) Group Buy organizers - DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Make sure you have every detail correct. Make sure your dealer, manufacturer, etc. can provide the goods at the price negotiated and deliver in a reasonable timeline. And most importantly, make sure you can organize the funds appropriately AND keep them separate from all other business.

13.) Organizers - There will be no 'nonrefundable deposits' terms in your group buy offerings.

All requests for Group Buys will be taken under advisement and addressed on a case-by-case basis.
