| My frankenstein of a build I am using quadrails from Cheaperthandirt.com (yes I know they are airsoft, even still I got some for my AR as well). Something that may have just passed into the piles of the archives (since I did not find anything about this when I searched) but these rails commonly cause problems. The simple fix is don't tighten the screws anymore than you have to (meaning just past snug) or else they will inhibit the piston and cause all sorts of problems. Perhaps some others can elaborate more, but I spent a couple hundred rounds (as is the norm when dealing with most problems with the AK) to try to get a "sticky" action to function better before I remembered something being mentioned about this in one of the reviews on cheaperthandirt.com (I bought this almost a year ago, now almost all the reviews there talk about it). Just trying to help avoid certain problems when building one of these fine guns. |
