I have a gun I call an SAR2 but it doesn't say it on the gun itself. "Intrac MKII" is all it has and "made in Romainia". Can anyone tell me where this gun came from? Who imported it? Potential value?
It came originally with the blonde laminate thumbhole stock.
Thanks in advance.

It was imported by Intrac in Knoxville Tn.It was built in Romania but I'm not sure which arsenal.IMHO the Intrac MKII is a good 5.45x39 rifle.

Sounds like an early Romak 2.

I also have an Intrac MKII and it is indeed similar to the Romak 2.  It is a Romanian AK variant in 5.45x39 with a thumbhole stock.  These were pre-SAR 2 rifles and contain no U.S. parts.  That is why they had to have a thumbhole stock.  Hope this helps.

If it's true that the gun had no US parts then is it legal in the traditional configuration? What do I have to do to make it compliant?

If you use all US made furniture (stock, upper/lower handgrips, and pistol grip), and a US made FCG, you ought to be good to go, I believe.

Cool. I have KVAR stocks, ERGO pistol grip, and RSA trigger.
