I recently acquired an AK-74 side folder with what I believe, after looking at Tantal's website, is a Russian military AK-74M sight plate. I noticed that it will not fit my BP-02 mount and was just wondering what mount will it fit?  Kind of hate to buy a mount to try it on and then be stuck with something I don't need.  I was thinking of the KV-04S for this 74 or maybe the new mount that AIM is coming out with hopefully soon.  Any thoughts.

That does look like a modern  74M plate I agree

Have you tried adjusting anything on the BP02 to get the lever to lock down? Or is it not able to slide on the rail at all?

If it goes partway on it could be a lever issue, if it won't even start it may take a tad bit of filing on the BP02, depending on where it's making contact. I've had great luck with various rail mounts and rails, but I can definitely say not all rail mounts fit all rails, BP02 is no exception.

eta: Also sometimes the pushbutton for the folder gets in the way by preventing the rail mount from starting at the correct angle. It can be worse trying to get a rail mount off because the push button is too high to let the mount clear as it slides off.

Having owned four BP-02s over the years, I know from first-hand experience that they can have QC issues.  Don't rule out the BP-02 as the problem, check it over well.
