I've had my arsenal sgl-21 for a couple months now and have probably shot about 1300 rounds through it and I ALWAYS clean it thoroughly after every trip to the range. BUT I never take the bolt apart to clean around the firing pin/extractor. Should i be doing this? I ALWAYS soak it in soapy water and scrub the whole thing down then coat it in clp/WD40 once I'm done. So what do you guys think? Should i break it down?

The firing pin is free floating, as long as the firing pin moves around freely you are good to go. The cleaning kit supplied with the rifle has a tool to tap out the firing pin retaining pin if you need to dis-assemble the bolt.

You can always use a pipe cleaner to clear out any carbon  build up if you don't want to dis-assemble the bolt.

There's no need to disassemble the bolt every time you clean the rifle.
I disassemble the bolt about once a year to prove to myself that I haven't forgotten how to do it.

I wouldn't take the bolt apart, and I'm anal! I have a little toothbrush I use to scrub the bolt face and get the residuals off.

Ok cool, sounds like I'm not doing anything awful then. Thanks for the quick responses as well guys.

The bolt comes apart?

I never disassemble the bolt.  Every once in a while I will hose it down real well with brake cleaner, but that's it.

Cleaning th bolt face and under the extractor for dirt powder residue chips of paint and brass is also very important...

You will be fine if you don't clean it every time you shoot it unless you want to. I've probably put close to 3000 rds through mine and never cleaned it once, not one problem. To answer your question, cleaning the bolt w/o taking it apart will be just fine, these things are diesel
