Anyone tried one of these yet? THANKS |

i have one in an sar-2 and another in an itm/oow bulgarian ak-74 build-up. slip in...press in place and lock it using the selector lever. it's a little more user friendly than the oem shepherd's crook retaining wire. while the retaining wire isn't really that difficult to install, it wasn't meant to be removed by the soldier for in-the-field service. the wire usually requires a tool or two to get removed/intalled...the rsa plate does not. |

I've heard a couple of others comment that they worry that the retainer plate isn't tight enough to prevent the pivot pins from rotating and possibly enlarging their receiver holes. I've heard this can be remedied with a strip or two of electrician's tape on the outside part of the retainer plate so it's applying sideways pressure on the pivot pins to prevent rotation. I just added a dab of epoxy to the inside circumference of the retainer plate pivot pin cutouts then a touch or two with a rat tail file for a snug & custom fit that won't rotate. Tomac |
