I was looking at my AKS-74 this evening and I saw something I haven't noticed on an AK before, and I haven't seen it mentioned...so I apologize if this is commonly known already. The notch in the rear sight is offset to the left. This is in the same direction I had to move the front sight to zero, so with the rear sight notch centered the front sight would likely end almost perfectly centered. Is that normal for the rear sight notch to be offset? Typical AK tolerances? I'm talking about the notch being offset on the leaf, not the leaf being off center. I'm just curious, because the notch is centered in the leaf on all of my other AK's. |
