I had my dealer order a Yugo underfolder from Southern Ohio Guns. He specified the AK m 70 SS, they told him it was the US manufactued receiver, but in an email reply they tell me the Yugo's they sell have Romanian receivers. If it does come with a Romanian receiver, are they inferior to a US manufactured receiver?

Its more than likely US made receiver but is of the Romanian style receiver. IE: no bulge at the front of receiver.

Maybe the dealer is confusing an RPK style receiver with a Romanian styled on maybe?

No Yugo UF rifle will have a Romanian made receiver.

SOG is offering to sell you a Romanian made rifle with an UF stock. The Romanian rifle will have an AKM style receiver but with no mag dimples, because the receiver was exported as a single stack (narrow mag well opening) receiver. The U.S. importer milled the mag well opening to a size to take regular double stack AK mags.

The Yugo UF rifles put together by Century Intl Arms will have a U.S. made receiver that is RPK style - thicker material than AKM and made to accommodate the bulged type trunion.

If SOG cannot provide what you want, find a distributor that will. Look to see what Classic Arms, AIM Surplus, Centerfire Systems, or J&G Sales can offer you.
