I see numerous vendors selling recoil buffer pads for AK's. It appears they are installed over the recoil spring to the rear by the spring latch. Am I correct in the location and are they worth installing. Any pro's and con's?

I think it's a waste of money. Aks are famous for lasting a lifetime or more..without a buffer. Its a fix to a non-existant problem.

I use green blackjack buffers in my AK's. They may not be needed, but it does take up a little bit of the recoil and is cheap insurance IMHO. I've had no problems with cycling or reliability.
