I sanded it down, bleached the wood, dyed it with Scarlet RIT dye, then put a few coats of goods polyurethane.

Looks great! I've been wanting to try this and I have a lot of romy wood sets just need to squeeze the time in, only problem is the whole time I'm working on it I'll be thinking I could be at the range shooting right now!!!

looks good but the park on the finish off sets it try some bake on enamels or use aluma hyde II the semi gloss black will tone the red down!! but you did a great job!!!

There is Russian red.  Then there is over the top attempt at Russian red.   This is blazing attempted Russian red.  Wayyy too red for me.  Long as your happy with it, that's what matters.
