If loaded jacketed, I tried about 8 different powders and settled on A-1680 (which was made to use in 7.62x39)
Plated bullets also shoot fine with FMJ data, full speed.
For home cast, powder coated, (Lee 6 gang 155 gr 2r mold) I use 15.0 grs of 2400 powder.
Gives 100% function in an AK(or AR) and is an easy shooting mid range load. Great load to start a young shooter with.
Steel Berdan cases also load fine if you have the Berdan primers.
Home cast on the left, plated bullet on the right. Standard dies will load steel cases just fine. Just have to work around the Berdan priming.
Berdan decapping
Thanks to all who leave your steel case on the ground, I gather them up with a magnet.
