Use e-clips instead, or does it do something besides hold the pins in? The one I have looks a little odd.

E clips are the way to go.. I belive 7/32 is the size. you will have to squeeze them together a little, but all of my AKs have them, and none have failed..

Does it seem odd because it has a coil spring like thing on it? If so, then this is for a full auto FCG. I believe the coil attaches to the auto sear. You can use e-clips, make or buy a retaining plate (my favorite) or you can clip off the coil on the shepards hook.
