After seeing somewhat positive stuff about Riley and their more recent stuff, I ended up getting one of the Riley 7.62 krinks to try out. Went ahead and form 1'ed it into a SBR. Attached File Took it out to the range today and put 330 rounds through it. No failures at all. Shot 270 rounds of igman brass case, and 60 rounds of steel case. 30 rounds was shot suppresed with my Putnik. So far so good. If I end up having luck with this rifle, I'll probably consider their 556 offerings coming out. Attached File Have a few items coming in this week to set it up. TWS hobnob, bcm grip to bolt on the bottom handguard, primary arms red dot, and kpyk krink rail to go on the top cover. |

Took a look inside to see how it looks after this initial range trip. Here is the peening on the tail of the carrier so far. No metal movement, just the shiny spot. At least for now Attached File Attached File I plan on doing a cleaning at a 1000 rounds and taking a look at everything again, unless of course an issue arises between now and then |

I figured on most of the marks on the bolt as well as the peening being normal. Mostly doing it for documentation and comparison for later on to track progress, as I plan to regularly update this thread. At least that is the plan for now, lol |

Attached File Ended up adding a red dot on a rs regulate mount, hob knob, tango down pistol grip, and mounted a bcm foregrip. Hoping to get out this weekend to get the red dot sighted in and hopefully a couple hundred more rounds through it. |

I don’t have a 7.62 AKSU so I’ve been really interested in their take. Really reasonable price too. It looks good - none of that wear seems abnormal yet. If I remember right AKOU had issues with their bolts being soft on the 5.45 full size model but everything else behaved pretty well. Supposedly they have long since addressed it though. If PSA doesn’t get on top of it, I’ll probably go with Riley. |

Attached File Fired another 235 rounds today for a total of 565 rounds fired so far with no issues. Ended up spray painting it as well, because, why not. |

Mine is at almost 2k and is still chugging along. I find it really hard to believe that his rebarrel job in the video lost headspace after a few magazines through the gun. Especially after the "soft" trunnion galled the barrel journal like that when pressing it out. No way to know just going by what's in the video, but another thing I would wonder if the Riley trunnion actually has a helical grind on the locking lugs. Using a bolt with a helical grind on the locking lugs on a trunnion that does not, would net poor results. He used two different 5.56 bolts that were not matched to the trunnion, when 5.56 will work just fine with a 5.45 bolt - maybe needing a small extractor adjustment if the fit of the rim is loose. WELL - I typed all of this and then watched the video again and he references a post that the Riley trunnion has no helical locking lugs. So yeah it's going to beat up a helical ground bolt because only a small surface area of the locking lugs will be engaged to the trunnion. I think you are right about this guy. Do not mix and match bolts on an AK unless you absolutely know what you're looking at |

| Hit 1,035 rounds today. Zero failures so far. The only maintenance was a bit of clp on the carrier at the start. Probably around 700 or so of the rounds fired have been kaiser (turkish) steel cased. Thinking about adding a kns piston, to help tame down some of the recoil. |

Got a Limbsaver pad for the stock on my wife's AK, and man it really made a difference, very cushy now. |

Attached File Taken it out the last couple range trips, a little over 1600 rounds now. Been shooting it suppressed the past couple trips with the Putnik as well. Still no issues have popped up yet. Hoping to be well over 2000 rounds by the end of summer. |
