hile Fast-forward five years to a small local gunshow today. Guy had a number of Romanian WASR's in the $500 dollar range. He said that the TAPCO trigger groups cured all the cases of trigger slap. I smiled and walked away. Reason: I have no clue if what he said was true, but I plan to do heavy research before I commit to my fourth AK. (Project to keep me out of the bars). I once owned a Poly Tech AKS-762, a B-West, and a WASR-10. The WASR was nothing but pain. Over the years I was forced to trade off and yes, I regret losing the Poly. I thought the prices were very steep, and there is a place near Bangor Maine that has AK's. Hive mind, what are your thoughts about this??? Suggestions?? Bill |

The Tapco triggers are pretty good. You can buy them for $30-35. $500 sounds steep for a WASR though. Check out Atlanic. I hear the Vectors are nice. I don't own any though. www.atlanticfirearms.com/programming/listview.asp?CatId=2 Check this thread. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=104508 |
| I'd look to buy online from some private party. I think you'll get a better deal. Atlantic's prices aren't special and they donn't stock much meaning you have to wait till they find what you want. The retail market is draining quicky of good deals. On the low end Century Yugos are almost a safe bet but looking around you'll find plenty of $500 and below deals. |

Go here www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/ read up on barrel cant then if you still want a romanian wasr10, find one at a store that stocks multiples of them so you can handle them before you buy. Here's the Tapco trigger for wasr's and sar's G2 Better yet. Buy a parts kit, receiver, and US parts, find a AK build party in your home state by going to the hometown forums and build your own ak. Here's a good site on AK building: howtobuildanaktyperifle.com/index.htm |
