I have tried with no success to find an answer with the search feature, epic fail.
I would like to know if a Polish stamped underfolding stock will mount up on a Romanian rear trunnion?
I have a Century Romanian rifle with the underfolding stock and am thinking of swapping out the Romanian milled stock for a Polish stamped steel model.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

No.

If you really have your heart set on a polish (late AKM type) UF.
Currently you can get a virgin rear trunnion really cheap.

Then all you have to do is drill the rivet holes to match the romy receiver and the stock locking holes to the pol UF.

The Romanian underfolder stock uses one locking lug for lockup. The Polish (AKMS pattern) underfolder stock uses two locking lugs (one on the left side and one on the right side) for lockup. This is the main incompatability between the two types.
You can look at the pics of the NDS-1 ROM UF (for Romanian underfolder) receiver and the NDS-1P (for Polish underfolder) receivers on our website (http://www.nodakspud.com to see the difference,

Harlan, are the main opennings the same diameter?
I am wondering if it would be possible to modify the locking assembly on the Polish unit to work on the Romanian trunnion and receiver.

Looking at the receivers and lock holes from Harlan's page, I think you could just use the stock from the polish UF assy and leave the Romy trunion and Romy mechanism in your rifle.

Used to be you could find just the stock minus the mechanism pretty cheaply from Centerfire Systems.

Drobs,

I think you are right. Harlan sent me a photo of the Romanian, Polish, and Yugo underfolder trunnions. They all appear to have the same diameter main mechanism hole. So, I am waiting to hear back to verify that info.
I found a Polish stock minus the mechanism, so I think I am going to get it and go from there.

I would guess the that where the Romanian milled UF stock attaches to the rifle is a little thicker than the Polish stamped stock.
However, you ought to be able to tighten the adjustment wheel/s down to make up for the thickness.

Here's the wheel (lack of a better term) I'm refering too:

Above are from a Romy G I built using Harlan's NDS-1P UF receiver and a Yugo Krink underfolding stock / mechanism.

Thanks for posting the photos drobs.
Harlan confirmed that the mechanism axel holes are the same diameter.
I have a stamped Polish stock (minus hardware) coming from gunbroker. Best part, $25 and it is parkerized, so it should, shall I say, blend with my Romy's finish.
I am going to use the Romanian axel and hardware to mount it up. Well that's the plan.
