I submit this question to the AK council, hoping to benefit from your wisdom and experience...

I Just received a romy sidefolder from DPH Arms (great experience) and it dropped right in to my SGL 21. The screw in the tang fits perfectly, but the 2nd screw that goes into the trunnion creates a problem. The screw fits into the hole, and does secure the stock, but it doesn't sit flush to the trunnion (I think that's the trunnion ). It just barely sticks out above the screw hole, and prevents the recoil spring assembly from fully seating in the receiver. Because of this, I can't secure the top cover.

My question is twofold: 1) is there a workaround that will allow the screw to get a flush fit? 2) Will the single screw be strong enough to support the stock on it's own?

The stock fits snugly with just the rear screw installed; there is no play at all. But I worry that if something happens to the screw, the stock will just fall out.

Thanks in advance, your help is appreciated!

On mine the front screw needs to be shorter, make sure the short screw is in the front hole or if they are both long file/grind the front one to fit.

Mine came with two different screws. The shorter one goes in the front hole.

Mine also came with a short and long screw... If I use the short screw on the front, it doesn't catch the threads and won't screw at all. If I wanted to use the long screw in the back, I would have to file it down so it doesn't catch the folder.

The problem is the head of the screw: it's circular in shape, wide, and flat. The problem is that it doesn't sit flush with the trunnion. I may have to head to the hardware store and get the right screws with different shaped heads so they fit properly.

I have had mine for years and remember having to shorten one also. no worries pretty common for these stocks. if that will not work then head to the the store for new ones you will still have to shorten anyways.

On mine the rear screw holds it in just fine without the front screw.  GARY  N4KVE

5mm.
If you can't find (or don't know) the correct length, buy longer screws, buy a nut as well and cut to length.
I used hex head screws, which fit the recesses in the stock block perfectly.
