Thinking about slapping a Romy s/f on my WASR. Is there anything I should know? Will this throw off the number of compliance parts? Is there any special tooling that must be done, or do I just insert it, and screw it against the stock tang? Thanks for any help!

Depends on who converted your WASR. The norm is to use a Romy wood stock, so the swap should be fine, unless you have US polymer or wood (pricier/less likely). Typical US parts are fcg (3), pg, gas piston. Should be an easy screw job.

Ha, I just did the same thing with my WASR after getting rid of the crappy TAPCO stock.  It fits great and works even better.  I have no idea if it changes the number of compliance parts but I have my fingers crossedh.gif  No special tools, though the screws supplied with mine needed an Allen key (whatever, the hexagonal things) so you may want have those handy.  Other than that nothing special, just ram it in there and screw it in!

Thanks! I thought it would be a breeze. It's a CAI build, and I recently acquired one of the snazzy Romy front foregrips for $15 from a local smith. I think the wire s/f will definitely add some spark to the look.
