whatever happened to all that russian hollow point stuff that used to be at the gun shows?  I never see that stuff anymore.  I used to like to smell the little boxes inside.  They smelled like pine trees. coooool.

I'm worried about you, Dude.  You're gonna end up like a buddy of mine that used to pour his ammo out on his bed and roll around on it.

Seriously though, if you're talking about the little white generic boxes that used to come wrapped in kind of a plastic-coated paper, I think those eventually became the brands we know now like Wolf, Sapsan, Brown Bear, etc.

As the Russians started to understand the capitalist ideas of brands, packaging, and marketing the way they packaged the ammo they produce evolved. As you can see from the pic of Russian ammo boxes it is a time line starting at the left  with the plain unmarked boxes of the first ammo imported. Next is the white box with printing on it which was first imported in 1997. Boxes with drawings and the use of color were first imported in 1998. The boxes with photo quality printing on  them were first imported in 2000.

cool, didn't know that.  I've been looking through my closests and found some old ammo cans that I had bought 6 yrs ago.  I found the old spam cans of 7.62x39 and guatemalan .223 and sellier&bellot 7.62.  I was kind of out of the gun thing for a few years.  It was a pleasant surprise.  Who's got some 7.62 x39?  I saw that cheaper than dirt are out of wolf.  Anybody got any?  ammoman maybe?
