Seller purchased @ 1995 shot very little. Any areas to look at? What is a fair price ? Thanks in advance. First post as a member!! |

$2,000 sounds TERRIBLY high for an SA-93.
Possibly I'm out of date on prices, but the SA and SLR Bulgarian rifles usually sell for much less then that. A fast look on Auction Arms shows the very similar SLR-95 with the highest starting bid of $900 and most lower than that. What to look for is overall condition, rust or corrosion in the bore and chamber, and inside the gas tube and gas block. Look for any alterations from factory original configuration. |
| You need to unban that thing with the proper 45 degree gas block, correct front sight block, thread the muzzle then get some of that fucking awesome orange puke Bulgarian bakelite with a Type 1 bayonet. If you want to to be a real dick, put an underfolder on it. No one has anything nicer. |

First you need to check if your SA-93 is cut for the lower tang. This will determine how much trouble it is going to be convert from the thumb hole stock ban configuration. To the guy above you: SA-93's do have the 45 degree gas block only minus the cleaning rod. I don't even want to know what it would cost to put an under folder on a milled receiver. |

You need the 45 degree gas block with the cleaning rod retainer in order to mount the type 1 bayonet. You will also need a new front sight block with the tabs for the cleaning rod as well. Mario at POH or maybe Chris at AK USA can do the conversion. If you want to add the underfolder that would be the time to do it. I wish I still had my SA 93's. Owned four of them and found them to be excellent rifles. |

I'm back,busy workin and searching.
After being overwhelmed with info not being sure of what was really wanted or needed- Think the 93 will remain intact, for now. I am going to work" practice" on a nhm-91,if it goes as expected then someday. There is no lower tang or slot.It is marked D.I.G.VAB.VA. Brings it close to home. Story goes Hamp.Coliseum- 2 on the table, first person bargains with dealer, #2 hears this and says "I'll buy one at that $ too." Mine is #2. |
| I debanned my SA93 and added a scope rail on the side. I just recently got it completely debannd. Ill post pics if you want. I have a suggestion What took me so long to finis the de-ban was finding the correct bulgarian FSB and gas block. Apex has them now. Id get them. |
