Whats the deal with this fat looking Flash suppressor. It's Fat & ugly as hell. But intrigues me at the same time. Kinda like my first wife. TIA WD

Its a bulgarian 4piece flash hider/booster designed for short barrel rifles like the aks-74u and bulgarian carbines with combination gasblock/front sights. It looks like the flashhider on the rifle you mentioned is threaded for the 14mm standard thread instead of the 24.5x1.5mm 74 style threads like the original design.
Edit; I have seen those flash hiders on full sized 74 rifles but I would think that it would eject and have the carrier bash the rear of the receiver very hard. |

I have one on my SLR-105. No problems. Some Russian FSB guys upgraded to RPK-74 recoil springs for the increased back pressure, as did I, but I don't think it's necessary.
If you're familiar with the Noveske KX3/KX5, they are iterations of the Bulgarian 4-piece flash hider concept.
