Since most SAR series rifles sold with a unthreaded bare muzzle, only 5 US parts are needed. Most came with a Century US made FCG (3 parts), a us made gas piston installed on the carrier and a US made pistol grip. This got them to be able to use a foreign mag. If you thread the muzzle and add a brake, then it need to be US made. Hootbro |
Little on the high side for a SAR-2 by about $55 dollars if stock. WASR-2's are a pig in a poke and would be a subject call on the buyers parts. Personally I would get the SAR-2 and try to get it cheaper before looking at the WASR-2. Hootbro |
Are there any upgrades on the SAR-2? $400 is the going rate for a stock SAR-2, but some upgrades in furniture, fire control group, or maybe an installed AK74 brake could justify the extra dollars. |
| the guy is selling a stock SAR-2, the only mod he did was modify the bolt carrier, he said he rivited the piston instead of having the original screw in place. He wants to sell for 400.00 but it is going to cost 55.00 extra for shipping and ffl fee, so it totals 455.00 IMO. Is that a good steal? Anyone had problems with SAR-2? Malfunctions? |
| he will charge 35.00 for shipping, my ffl is 20.00 only. so basically he is selling it for 420.00 in true terms. This is in regards to the person who owns 6 of the sar-2, Would you rather bring the sar-2 into battle or a AR-15? I did some ballistics testing with my software, it looks like the 5.45x39 shoots a little bit flatter than the 5.56 going off by manufacture specs, B/c, and info. I think this 53-60gr 5.45 is better than the 5.56 m193 because of the tumble when it hits soft tissue and the flat trajectory. |
