I want to add a M16 pattern flash suppressor to a SAR-2, is this even possible? Not sure about the SAR-2 but I have an SAR-1 that I threaded and it was easy except for a stuck FSB pin. The SAR-1 was thick enough to thread 1x14mm LH threads. I am assuming the SAR-2 barrel will be thinner and if so you can thread it for 1/2x28 RH threads which are the same as the AR platform. |

My SAR 2 has almost 2 inches between the Front sight tower and the muzzle. You would be better served putting the original type front sight base back on it for this reason. You can't cut the barrel back without a Form 1 and the FSB might be too loose to move it forward...you won't know that until you try it though. |

I want to add a M16 pattern flash suppressor to a SAR-2, is this even possible? I have an M16 flash suppressor on a ROMAK-2, which should be the same or a very similar barrel. Mine was pretty much exactly the correct diameter to cut in the AR pattern threads. |

That is what actually stimulated the thought (beside the huge fire ball when I fire the gun indoors). I was wanting to add a M16 flash suppressor and was wondering if the thinner barrel of the SAR-2 would accepted it and if so how far to thread because the FSB is so far back, I would end up threading almost 2 inches to go to the FSB. |
