Does anyone know where a "normal" (Norinco) style front sight base is being sold anymore? I haven't been able to find anything.

When you say "normal base", are you referring to the 1. post 2. dowel 3. front sight and bayonet lug?

At the risk of appearing stupid, I'm not sure what you mean by the dowel and post. I'm under the impression that its one entire piece (as shown below in the picture).

What you have pictured is the entire front sight/bayonet lug. They are not common to find anymore.

Inside the front globe tower there is a dowel (or sometimes referred to as the base) that can be moved from side to side to adjust for windage, and the post threads into the dowel and can be turned up or down to adjust for height.
